Six years ago, we launched a live experience, tailored specifically for the creative community. What started as an inspirational conference for university students has strategically evolved into a professional development opportunity at the forefront of our creative economy.
What we lacked in early experience, we made up for with a dedicated vision to deliver high-quality content to a very specific market of creatives. From 2010 to 2012, we successfully planned, launched and grew our core event, The Design Conference, on the Sunshine Coast.
With venues selling out from day one, the support we received has seen The Design Conference grow from a single day event, capped at 250 attendees on the Sunshine Coast, to a multi-day event with almost 800 attendees at The Brisbane Powerhouse.
The future has never looked more bright for The Design Conference. From international keynote speakers to our curated breakouts and side events, 2017 attendees are going to experience our best event yet.
Both the 2015 and 2016 events set a critical precedence for the future of The Design Conference. Not only did we exceed all key growth indicators by 50%, but we strategically increased our brand authority through successful relationships with world-class speakers, international partners and new geographic segments.
For the first time in four years, we decided to grow the event sidewards rather then in numbers. While this limits our ability to create revenue, it creates an opportunity for us to focus on delivering a broader, more meaningful event for our amazing fans.
